If you are on a tour of Australia, then you can’t afford to miss Sydney, the Great Barrier Reef and the Red Centre (Uluru / Ayers Rock). Tick these off your to do list in between other phenomenal excursions and activities when you book one of our tours.
Depending on the areas you wish to visit, the climate will be more amenable at varying times of the year. Use our guide below to decide when you should travel to Australia based on your itinerary:
- November to April for Brisbane and lower Queensland, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
- April to October for Cairns and north Queensland, Red Centre, Darwin, Broome and the Kimberley.
Qantas is best for direct flights to Perth, but all other airlines travel to the major East Coast cities. British Airways offers flights directly to Sydney via Singapore.

New Zealand is far easier to drive by yourself. Unless you are touring a small area in Australia such as the East Coast, we would recommend avoiding self-driving tours as the landscape is too big.
