Like No Other
This fiercely independent region is located on the west coast of the North Island, midway between Wellington and Auckland. It is dominated by the symmetrical volcanic cone of Mt Taranaki and the surrounding Egmont National Park which has a network of tracks and trails for those wishing to explore or climb the mountain.

Around Mt Taranaki Tour, New Plymouth
This personalised scenic tour into the Egmont National Park and around the Taranaki volcanoes is designed to provide you with the best opportunity to learn, see and experience as much of Taranaki as is possible in one day, with a focus on contemporary Māori culture and the stunning landscape. A knowledgeable guide will escort you, share Māori myths, legends and many stories of Māori culture. You will visit the bird reserve at Lake Mangamahoe, Egmont National Park rainforest, see views from 900metres above sea-level, pass through the mountain villages of Inglewood and Stratford then the coastal villages of Okato and Oakura before passing the Sugar Loaf Islands on your return to New Plymouth.
